I don’t focus on burnout.
I focus on making work work
because when work works, burnout doesn’t take hold.

Most people think burnout comes from too much work. I focus on something different: work that doesn’t work.

When effort stops turning into progress — when meetings circle back, decisions don’t get made, and good work goes nowhere — burnout, frustration, and performance problems follow. I help leaders fix the system so effort turns into progress again.

I’m a licensed psychologist, leadership consultant, and Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Seattle Pacific University, where I lead research in executive coaching and organizational development. I’m also the author of ACT Like a Leader and the forthcoming book When Work Doesn’t Work.
